The DDS Drive Controllers series comprises modular digital AC drive controllers that allow AC servo and main drives to be combined into a compact drive package supplied by a single compatible supply unit, and they are commonly used in machine tools, textile machinery, printing/packaging equipment, and robotics/handling systems.
In conjunction with supported Indramat motor families (including MDD/MKD and linear motor arrangements), DDS controllers are designed for dynamic motion tasks that require fast response and stable control. DDS units are intended to be powered by Indramat supply units that provide a regulated 24 VDC control supply. Thermal design options across the series include cabinet-airflow “heat technology,” external-airflow “cold technology,” and liquid/coolant cooling, where coolant solutions transfer a large portion of losses out of the control cabinet and can allow energy recovery within the cooling circuit. Configuration and serviceability depend on feedback and modular build: units are matched to either digital servo feedback or resolver feedback at the feedback interface, and the software module stores firmware and parameters so a pre-parameterized setup can be transferred during replacement.
