Product Description:
The DDS03.1-W050-DS12-01 digital AC servo drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DDS Drive Controllers series. In an automation cell, the unit forms the power and feedback junction between a supply module and an Indramat servo motor, regulating current and velocity loops for coordinated multi-axis motion. It converts supply power into controlled motor current and manages the feedback path needed for stable closed-loop operation. This arrangement supports coordinated acceleration, speed regulation, and positioning across multiple axes. Using an integrated drive controller instead of discrete amplifiers reduces panel depth and streamlines wiring for pick-and-place, packaging, and printing equipment.
It communicates with the master control system through the SERCOS interface, so parameter data and diagnostics are exchanged over a fiber-optic ring with short cycle times. A continuous phase current of 50 A allows the drive to energize medium-frame motors without saturating the output stage. The housing has an IP20 rating, so it is intended for installation inside closed cabinets while still allowing direct access to terminals. Thermal energy is removed by internal air cooling, which means cabinet airflow must pass through the heat sink rather than across exterior fins. Because cooling air moves through the heat sink, the cabinet layout must maintain a clear internal airflow path. Component tolerances allow reliable operation from 0 to 45 °C without derating in typical industrial settings.
Closed-loop current control relies on digital servo feedback, so encoder resolution is preserved from the motor to the controller without analog drift. That feedback method supports accurate speed and position regulation when load conditions change during operation. The drive can operate at elevations up to 1000 m with its rated cooling concept. During shutdown or transport, the electronics can tolerate storage temperatures from −30 to +85 °C. The unit is part of Line 03 and uses Version 1 for this function set.
