Product Description:
The DDS3.1-W030-DA01-00 drive controller is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. It forms the power and control link between a shared DC bus and a synchronous AC motor, delivering regulated current while processing position data through digital servo feedback. Installed in a multi-axis rack, the unit supplies coordinated velocity and torque control for packaging stations, pick-and-place gantries, and other motion cells that require precise closed-loop performance.
Power is drawn from a nominal 300 VDC ±15% bus; staying within that range prevents undervoltage or overvoltage faults. Continuous operation is supported at 15 A, and short acceleration bursts can reach a peak of 30 A. Command references arrive through the analog interface, enabling ±10 V speed or torque signals from upstream controllers. Both motor and feedback leads may extend up to 75 m, allowing the electrical cabinet to be positioned away from the motor without signal loss. A chassis-ground conductor with a cross-sectional area of 10 mm² must be connected, and power enters through an M5 threaded terminal. The unit is secured to the panel with M6 screws. The motor power connector has four pins, whereas the X6 control header has six pins for auxiliary I/O. Terminal lugs must be tightened to 3 Nm to maintain low-resistance connections.
The holding-brake circuit is energized by 24 VDC ±10%, keeping its supply separate from the main bus. The IP20 enclosure requires installation inside a protected electrical cabinet. The permitted ambient operating temperature ranges from 0 °C to 45 °C, while storage is permitted from -30 °C to 85 °C. Installation altitudes can reach 1,000 m without derating. A front-panel RS232C port provides access for configuration and diagnostics through compatible Bosch Rexroth utilities. With an overall height of 390 mm, the unit fits standard 400 mm subracks.
