The DDS02.2-W200-BE03-00 is a drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DDS Drive Controllers series. Installed between the machine control system and a servo motor, it converts command words into regulated three-phase output, allowing coordinated axis positioning in automated presses, pick-and-place gantries, and other industrial motion stations. The unit provides parameter memory, fault monitoring, and bus communication so the host PLC can execute torque, speed, or position loops without separate analog amplifiers. Its integrated control functions also reduce the need for additional interface hardware in multi-axis cabinets.
The controller exchanges real-time setpoints with the master through a SERCOS interface, which standardizes telegram timing and avoids vendor-specific cabling. During operation, the power section can deliver up to 200 A of continuous output current, so servo motors with large dynamic torque requirements can be driven without derating. Heat released by the IGBTs is removed by air from inside the control cabinet; this internal airflow method means no external ductwork is necessary, but it relies on cabinet ventilation for temperature stability. Component surfaces carry an IP20 protection rating, indicating finger-safe construction but no sealing against dust ingress. Reliable function is maintained when ambient temperature remains within 0 to 45 °C, which matches typical shop-floor conditions.
Performance parameters apply up to an installation height of 1000 m above sea level, after which cooling capacity and dielectric spacing must be reviewed. For position verification, the drive accepts digital servo feedback as well as resolver signals, allowing mixed-sensor machinery to share the same controller platform. This flexibility helps when older resolver-equipped motors operate alongside newer encoder-based axes. When powered down, the electronics tolerate a storage temperature range of -30 to 85 °C, so the unit can be kept in unconditioned storage without damage to capacitors or solder joints.
