The DDS02.1-W100-DA-01-FW is part of the DDS Drive Controllers series produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. As a digital AC servo drive, it supplies regulated three-phase power to compatible motors for position and speed control tasks within automated machinery. The controller fits into a 19-inch cabinet and integrates with other Rexroth modules to close the motion loop through encoder feedback, enabling precise axis regulation in packaging lines, material-handling systems, and general factory automation.
This device delivers a continuous output current of 100 A, allowing the drive to supply sustained phase current without thermal derating under suitable operating conditions. Internal electronics communicate with the machine control through an analog interface, so command voltages or currents from a PLC can regulate velocity and torque in real time. Thermal energy is removed by air drawn from inside the control cabinet, eliminating the need for an external cooling fan while keeping airflow contained within the enclosure. The housing has an IP20 protection rating, providing protection against accidental finger contact while requiring installation inside a suitable cabinet. Motor position data returns to the module through digital servo feedback, enabling high-resolution closed-loop control with rapid update rates.
The drive maintains its full electrical ratings at elevations up to 1000 m above sea level. Above this elevation, current derating is required to compensate for the reduced density of the cooling air. The permitted ambient operating temperature ranges from 0 to 45 °C, so cabinet airflow must keep the unit within this range during continuous operation. When powered down, the controller can be stored at temperatures from -30 to 85 °C without adversely affecting its components, which permits storage in locations without active climate control. The controller is Version 1, corresponding to the first version of the DDS 02 product line and its compatible option cards.
