The DDS02.1-W200-DS70-00-FW is an AC servo drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DDS Drive Controllers series. It forms the regulating element between a motion controller and Indramat synchronous motors, converting control commands into precisely metered current for position and velocity loops in automated machinery. In operation, the controller closes the motor control loops inside the drive so the axis can follow commanded speed and position changes with stable response. As a modular rack-mount unit, it is installed inside a control cabinet where it integrates with other drive modules to build multi-axis systems for packaging lines, printing presses, or material-handling stations. This arrangement is common in machine layouts where several servo axes share a central cabinet and control platform.
The drive exchanges real-time data with higher-level motion controllers through the SERCOS interface, allowing deterministic cycle times and synchronized multi-axis moves. To remove heat, it uses internal air cooling; cabinet air is drawn across the heat sink, so no external ducting is required, but unobstructed enclosure airflow must be maintained. The unit has a continuous current rating of 200 A, so the connected motor and supply conductors must be sized for that load, especially on high-torque axes. Protection against accidental contact with live parts is supplied by the IP20 housing, which is intended for clean, closed control panels rather than open installation areas. Reliable operation is permitted at ambient temperatures from 0–45 °C, so higher cabinet temperatures call for added ventilation or output derating.
Feedback from the motor arrives as digital servo feedback, giving position information that the drive can process directly for accurate motion control without analog conversion. Installation sites can be located up to 1000 m above sea level before output derating is required. Long-term storage is permitted from -30 to 85 °C, which allows the unit to remain in unheated warehouse conditions during extended downtime.
