Product Description:
The DDS02.1-W015-DS23-00 drive controller is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the DDS Drive Controllers series. As a modular unit, it works with Indramat supply modules to regulate three-phase servomotors used in industrial automation. By receiving motion commands from a higher-level control system and modulating motor voltage and current, the controller enables precise positioning and speed control on packaging lines, material-handling axes, and similar applications. This arrangement places the controller between the power supply section and the motor, where it manages the electrical output needed for controlled axis movement.
It communicates with the host control through the SERCOS interface, a fiber-optic ring that carries real-time position and diagnostic data with deterministic timing. This communication method supports coordinated motion because command updates and feedback data are exchanged in a predictable sequence. The drive uses internal air cooling, so cabinet air is drawn through the heat sink and the enclosure must provide adequate ventilation. A continuous output of 15 A is available, so the connected motor must stay within that current limit during continuous operation. Resolver or encoder signals are processed through digital servo feedback, allowing the drive to close its velocity and position loops without analog drift. The unit is part of Line 02.
The controller is a Digital AC Servo Drive Controller that uses a PWM three-phase output stage together with microprocessor-based motion control. This combination lets the drive regulate motor current precisely while maintaining stable response during commanded speed and position changes. The unit is Version 1. It mounts on a common backplane beside supply and bleeder modules, which keeps related drive components in the same assembly and supports multi-axis cabinet layouts.
