Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DDS03.2-W050-BE31-01-FW drive controller for the DDS Drive Controllers series. As a digital AC servo drive controller, it converts DC-link energy from a supply module into modulated three-phase output for machine axes. Within an automation line, the unit works with motion processors to deliver controlled current and voltage waveforms that position servo motors under dynamic load. This arrangement supports accurate torque, speed, and position control during acceleration, deceleration, and steady running. The unit is used where coordinated axis movement must remain stable under changing load conditions.

Motion commands and status data are exchanged over a SERCOS interface, which uses a fiber-optic ring for real-time communication between the controller and the higher-level motion system. Its power stage is rated for 50 A of current, which is suitable for medium-inertia servo motors in continuous industrial use. Heat is removed by internal air cooling, so cabinet airflow must carry heat away from the unit rather than relying on an onboard blower. The enclosure is rated IP20, which protects against accidental finger contact with internal live parts but still requires installation inside a suitable cabinet. The drive accepts digital servo feedback and resolver feedback, allowing either feedback type to be used for closed-loop motor control with the same hardware. This helps the controller work with different motor feedback systems used across existing machine layouts.

The product is part of Line 03 and uses Function ID version 01. It also uses hardware revision 2, which identifies the controller revision level. Continuous operation is permitted from 0 to 45 °C, while storage is allowed from −30 to 85 °C. Installation heights up to 1000 m are supported without derating. The storage range supports unpowered handling and warehouse storage between uses.
