Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DDS02.2-W015-BE11-01-FW as part of the DDS Drive Controllers series. This digital AC servo drive controller governs motor torque and velocity in multi-axis automation by converting incoming DC bus energy into precisely timed three-phase outputs while processing incremental or absolute position data from the attached motor. Integrated with higher-level motion CPUs, it provides the power stage and closed-loop regulation needed for packaging, printing, and material-handling equipment without requiring external amplifiers. That arrangement lets the drive respond quickly to speed changes and load variations during coordinated machine motion.
The controller exchanges setpoint and diagnostic data over a SERCOS interface, allowing synchronous communication on fiber-optic rings. Heat is removed through internal air cooling, meaning cabinet air is drawn across the heat sink instead of relying on separate ducts. This cooling method keeps the enclosure layout simple and directs airflow where the power section generates the most heat. Its nominal drive capability is rated at 15 A, which suits compatible motor sizes and the inverter's thermal load. Protection is classified as IP20, so the unit is intended for installation in closed panels that prevent accidental contact with live parts. Reliable operation is maintained between 0–45 °C, and within this ambient range the power semiconductors and control electronics maintain rated current and control accuracy.
The unit may be mounted up to 1000 m above sea level without derating, which allows full output in most plant locations. For warehousing and shipping, its electronics tolerate a storage range of -30–85 °C, helping protect the unit during transport and inactive storage. Motor position can be processed through digital servo feedback or a resolver, giving options for precision or rugged sensing with different motor feedback systems. The unit is part of Line 02, and it uses Function ID Version 01 with a Version 2 build level for the matching connector keys and backplane pinouts.
