Product Description:
The DDS02.2-W100-BE12 digital AC servo drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as a unit in the DDS Drive Controllers series. Installed inside machine control cabinets, the device regulates three-phase servo motors by converting drive commands from higher-level motion systems into precise current and voltage outputs. Within automated assembly cells, packaging lines, or printing machines, it closes the torque and speed loop to support coordinated multi-axis motion while occupying minimal panel space.
For real-time axis coordination, the controller links to the CNC or PLC through the SERCOS interface, a fiber-optic communication interface that transmits synchronized setpoints and feedback at high speed. During continuous operation, it can deliver a 100 A output, so downstream wiring and circuit protection must be sized for that current. Cabinet airflow is supported by internal air cooling, which relies on the enclosure’s own circulation fans and keeps external contaminants away from power electronics. The housing carries an IP20 rating, which provides finger-safe touch protection but no liquid sealing, so installation is restricted to closed electrical enclosures. Reliable function is maintained when ambient air remains between 0 – 45 °C, allowing the unit to operate alongside standard automation electronics.
Feedback versatility is provided by digital servo feedback as well as resolver feedback, permitting the same drive to pair with motors that generate electronic encoder signals or analog resolver voltages. Altitudes up to 1000 m above sea level are permitted before derating is required, matching common factory elevations. When machinery is idle, storage components tolerate temperatures from -30 – 85 °C, so spare drives can be warehoused without climate-controlled rooms.
