The DDS03.1-W050-DS03-01 is a drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DDS Drive Controllers series. It functions as the central amplifier that delivers regulated power to matched Indramat servo motors and supports communication within the drive system, allowing precise velocity and position control in automated machinery and material-handling cells. Installed in a closed cabinet, it can link multiple axes over fiber optics while keeping high-voltage components away from accessible machine areas. This arrangement supports coordinated motion on packaging lines, transfer systems, and other multi-axis equipment where fast response and stable feedback are required.

The unit exchanges real-time motion data through a SERCOS interface, so axis commands, feedback, and diagnostics travel on a deterministic optical ring that simplifies multi-drive wiring. The optical connection also helps reduce susceptibility to electrical noise inside cabinets that contain switching power components. Thermal management relies on internal air cooling; cabinet air is drawn across the heat sink, eliminating the need for an additional blower on the drive itself. For facilities located up to 1000 m above sea level, full electrical ratings are maintained because cooling air density remains adequate for heat removal. When the machine is powered down, the drive can be stored in temperatures from -30 to +85 °C without damage to internal components. Motor position is monitored through digital servo feedback, allowing the controller to correct load disturbances with fine current modulation. This helps maintain position accuracy during load changes and repeated start-stop cycles. The unit is part of Line 03 and uses Function ID version 01. It is Version 1.
