Product Description:
The DDS02.2-A100-BE37-01-FW drive controller is part of the DDS Drive Controllers series from Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It is intended to act as the axis amplifier inside multi-axis automation racks, converting DC bus power into controlled three-phase output that governs industrial servomotors. Within a motion system, it closes the current and velocity loops so that machine tools, printing lines, and handling robots can move with repeatable precision. Because it is modular, the unit mounts alongside supply modules inside a cabinet and communicates over fiber-optic buses.
Its command traffic is carried on the SERCOS interface, a real-time fiber-optic network that transmits setpoints and feedback in synchronous 1 ms cycles, allowing multiple axes to be phase-aligned. Continuous output capability reaches 100 A, so the drive can energize medium-frame servo motors without derating. Thermal management relies on air from outside the control cabinet, meaning cooling air is drawn through external ducts rather than recirculated warm cabinet air, which keeps internal electronics within acceptable temperature limits. Motor position signals are accepted via digital servo feedback, enabling high-resolution incremental or absolute encoders, and via resolver feedback, which offers noise-immune analog angle information for harsh environments. These feedback paths let the controller execute accurate commutation and detect position loss immediately.
The controller uses a parameter set and modular code structure within the DDS platform. The operating core belongs to Line 02, and hardware Version 2 reflects revisions in power circuitry and diagnostics compared with earlier releases. A fixed Function ID of 01 sets the basic feature scope for this controller. Application-specific behavior is provided by firmware that must be ordered as a separate subitem, allowing the same drive hardware to serve different motion tasks once the correct software module is installed.
