This unit is used inside multi-axis automation cabinets to regulate torque, speed, and position of servo motors by modulating three-phase output based on command signals from higher-level motion controllers. By converting incoming DC bus energy into controlled AC waveforms, it supports precise motion profiles in packaging machines, printing presses, and material-handling stations. The device mounts on a backplane and interfaces with a common power supply module, forming a modular drive rack architecture.

The integrated SERCOS interface supplies deterministic fiber-optic communication between this controller and the motion PLC, supporting high-speed cyclic data exchange for synchronized axis groups. Thermal management relies on internal air cooling, which means cabinet air is drawn through the heat sink and enclosure airflow must be maintained to dissipate conversion losses.
