Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth manufactures the digital drive DDS02.1-W050-DL22-01-FW for motor control with the built-in positioning logic. It works with 300 VDC +/-15% bus power supply and its peak current rating is 50 A while the continuous current rating of this drive is 40 A at all times. This drive controller applies to the single-axis automation systems.
The DDS02.1-W050-DL22-01-FW drive controller feature an inside air-cooling mechanism for thermal management and it supports digital feedback equipped machines such as digital servo motors. The drive has terminal points A1, A2 and A3 for motor connection along with a separate earthing terminal for motor ground. Following the motor points there are two dedicated terminals for connecting holding brake and it also supports PTC thermal controller for fetching temperature values from inside the motor for feedback. The DDS drive controller possess positioning module on slot 1, interface module on slot 2 for INTERBUS networks, I/O module on slot 3 which provides 15 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs while the last slot number 5 is for firmware and parameters storage. The total current consumption of modules at +24V is about 750 mA along with 150 mA on +15V rails and 150 mA on -15V rails.
The DDS02.1-W050-DL22-01-FW drive controller favors conditions of up to +45°C and it is capable of derated operation up to +55°C. The relative humidity should be less than or equal to 0.9 RH and its absolute humidity support does not exceed 25 g/m 3. The DDS drive controller offers an IP20 protection rating that makes it safe to mount in controlled cabinets. Its mass is around 7.5 kg and the drive can function through a distance of 246 ft cable length, further extension might affect the performance.
Frequently Asked Questions about DDS02.1-W050-DL22-01-FW:
Q: What is the purpose of the built-in positioning logic in the DDS02.1-W050-DL22-01-FW drive controller?
A: The positioning logic allows precise control of motor movement in automation systems, making it ideal for applications requiring accurate positioning, such as robotics and conveyors.
Q: Why is the DDS02.1-W050-DL22-01-FW rated for 50 A peak current but 40 A continuous current?
A: The peak current rating of 50 A allows for short bursts of power during motor acceleration, while the 40 A continuous current ensures reliable long-term operation without overheating the drive.
Q: How does the air-cooling mechanism affect the performance of the DDS02.1-W050-DL22-01-FW?
A: The internal air-cooling system improves thermal management, preventing the controller from overheating during extended operation and ensuring it maintains optimal performance even under high load conditions.
Q: How does the DDS02.1-W050-DL22-01-FW support integration with INTERBUS networks?
A: The drive controller features an interface module in slot 2 specifically designed for seamless integration with INTERBUS networks, allowing for smooth communication and control within complex automation systems.
Q: What role does the PTC thermal controller play in the DDS02.1-W050-DL22-01-FW?
A: The PTC thermal controller allows the drive to monitor the motor's temperature, helping prevent overheating by sending feedback to adjust operations accordingly, thereby protecting the motor and drive from potential damage.
