The DDS02.1-W025-RS16-01 is a modular drive controller. It is part of the DDS product line from Bosch Rexroth. The basic unit of the unit has a total of five slots that can accommodate various modules. Two slots are reserved: one slot is reserved for a software module and another slot is reserved for a command and communication card. The DDS02.1-W025-RS16-01 features a SERCOS command and communication card. Both the drive firmware and the operating parameters are stored on the software module. The contents of the module can be easily copied to other software modules. This facility enables fast drive controller commissioning. If a working controller fails, the software module can be shifted to a replacement unit which minimizes system downtime and facilitates troubleshooting. The rated output of the DDS02.1-W025-RS16-01 is 25 Amps.
The rated values are valid for 0 to 45 degrees Celsius temperature and 0 to 1000 meters altitude. Operation of the DDS02.1-W025-RS16-01 outside recommended ambient conditions leads to output derating. The controller can be operated with derated values at temperatures that reach 55 degrees Celsius and elevations that reach 5000 meters. The DDS02.1-W025-RS16-01 is a convection-cooled drive controller. Support for resolver feedback is available on the unit. The DDS02.1-W025-RS16-01 is designed for vertical mounting. The height of the controller is 373 millimeters, the width is 105 millimeters and the depth is 325 millimeters. Bosch recommends providing minimum 40 millimeters of free space in front of the mounted controller, and 80 millimeters on the top of and bottom sides. The air inlet is located on the bottom side and the air outlet is located on the top side. Both of these airways should be unobstructed for proper cooling.
