The DDS02.1-W150-DS11-01 is a drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DDS Drive Controllers series. It governs three-phase servo motors by modulating current and voltage in real time so that axes follow motion profiles from the supervisory automation system. Housed inside a control cabinet, the unit serves as the power stage between the PLC and the motor, carrying out position, speed, and torque commands during operation. This arrangement lets the controller react quickly to load changes and keep coordinated axes on their commanded path during acceleration, steady running, and deceleration.
This controller exchanges setpoints and diagnostics over a SERCOS interface, providing deterministic fiber-optic communication with the motion CPU. Continuous armature demand is supplied at up to 150 A, which is the maximum RMS output the drive can deliver without derating. The housing has an IP20 protection category, so installation inside an enclosure is required to shield the electronics from dust and accidental contact. Rated operation spans 0–45 °C, and thermal management is handled by air that circulates from inside the cabinet across the heat sink. Because cooling air is drawn from the cabinet interior, the enclosure must also dissipate the heat released by the drive during normal operation. Performance remains within tolerance as long as the mounting altitude does not exceed 1000 m, which helps maintain normal cooling and dielectric strength.
The controller supplies position-loop feedback through digital servo feedback, enabling high-resolution measurement of rotor angle without analog conversion. This feedback method supports accurate commutation and stable closed-loop control across changing motor speeds. For long-term storage or transport, it tolerates ambient temperatures between -30 to 85 °C while the unit is offline. The unit carries Function ID 01 and belongs to line 02 within the DDS product structure. The controller is Hardware Version 1.
