When DDS drive controllers by Bosch Rexroth are combined with AC motors such as the MDD, MKD, ADF, 1MB, and MBW series, they function as rapid-response drives. These drives are designed for various applications, including handling machines, printing and packaging machines, robotics, and textile machines. The drive controllers are components of the modular DDS drive system which function with a high level of flexibility.
The DDS02.2-W100-BE11-02-FW is a drive controller in the DDS series designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. The Version 2 DDS model is compatible with motors that use either digital servo feedback or servo feedback. Its plug-in module is the SERCOS module, through which information can be securely exchanged with other control units. The module requires the use of a fiber optic cable that can be ordered as a separate item from the manufacturer. An added benefit of the plug-in module is that it supplies inputs to evaluate sensor inputs, travel range limit switches, and reference switches. It also ensures that digital drives equipped with SERCOS-compatible controls can be operated via the fiber optic cable.
All supply units with a regulated DC 24V voltage can be connected to the DDS02.2-W100-BE11-02-FW. The supply unit can be mounted into a control cabinet with the drive controller to ensure space conservation. Heat dissipation from the DDS drive controller is via heat technology, a cooling method where heat is eliminated within the control cabinet. As a result, large control cabinets are required with air conditioning. The control cabinet has an Ingress Protection rating of IP 10 according to EN 60529, indicating that it is impervious to solid extrinsic objects with a diameter over 50mm.
