The DDS02.1-A100-DS23-02 is a digital AC servo drive controller built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. Installed inside multi-axis cabinets, it supplies regulated three-phase power to Indramat servo motors and exchanges motion commands with central automation controllers. In production cells, packaging equipment, and printing lines, its role is to convert position or torque requests into controlled motor current so the axis maintains precise velocity and position under dynamic load. Because the controller regulates motor current continuously, it can support both steady running and rapid changes in speed or direction. It is intended for cabinet-based automation systems where several axes operate under coordinated control.

Communication with higher-level motion controllers takes place over the SERCOS interface, so setpoints and parameter transfers remain synchronous across the drive ring. The power section delivers a continuous output of 100 A, allowing direct connection of medium-inertia axes without external current boosters. The housing is rated IP20, which helps prevent accidental finger contact but still requires installation in a protective cabinet. Thermal energy is removed by external air from outside the control cabinet, so the unit does not recirculate heated enclosure air. Closed-loop position accuracy is supported by digital servo feedback, allowing the drive to process motor feedback signals directly during high-response motion. The electronics remain fully rated at elevations up to 1000 m, so standard plant installations do not require altitude-related current reduction.
