Product Description:
The DDS2.1-W100-D is a digital AC servo drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and included in the DDS Drive Controllers series. Within an automation cabinet, it interfaces with Rexroth supply modules and fieldbus masters to regulate motor current, velocity, and position. By converting DC-bus power into controlled three-phase outputs, the unit drives servo axes used in packaging machines, transfer lines, and robotic gantries while maintaining diagnostic feedback for the higher-level PLC.
The drive draws 500 mA from the cabinet’s 24 V logic rail and 150 mA from each ±15 V auxiliary rail to energize the control electronics. Its power section connects to a DC link held at 300 V ±15%; from that bus, it can deliver up to 60 A of continuous phase current or 100 A during acceleration bursts. A secondary rating of 40 A continuously at maximum peak duty establishes the thermal limits for repeated surges. Analog commands are referenced to a 10 VDC source, and the ready relay can switch 24 VDC at 1 A to indicate system status. Heat is carried away by internal cabinet air, so enclosure airflow must remain unobstructed. The DC-bus studs require a tightening torque of 3 Nm, while the motor terminals require 5 Nm. A conductor with a minimum cross-sectional area of 0.75 mm² feeds the brake coil from a 24 VDC ±10% supply.
The housing stands 390 mm tall and carries an IP20 ingress protection rating, indicating finger-safe terminals without dust sealing. Rated operation is permitted at ambient temperatures from 0–45 °C and at elevations up to 1000 m above sea level; outside these limits, the drive current must be derated. Long-term storage is permitted between -30 °C and 85 °C. Digital servo feedback from the motor encoder closes the current and velocity loops, while parameter uploads and diagnostics are supported through the 15-pin D-Sub RS-232 interface.
