Product Description:
The DDS02.2-W100-BE24-01 is a digital AC servo drive controller built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. In multi-axis equipment, it supplies regulated power to synchronous or induction servo motors while exchanging real-time motion commands with plant PLCs. By converting three-phase input into a precisely modulated output, the unit closes the electrical loop that positions tooling, indexing tables, and material-handling stages used throughout industrial automation. It is suited for coordinated motion systems that require stable torque and speed control across several axes. This type of controller is used where the drive must respond quickly to command changes and maintain repeatable axis behavior during production.
Communication is carried out through the SERCOS interface, permitting deterministic fiber-optic networking so the controller can be synchronized with other drives within microseconds. A continuous output of 100 A provides current headroom for medium-power axes that require rapid acceleration. The housing has an IP20 rating, so the controller is intended for installation inside a protected cabinet. Heat is removed by internal air cooling, meaning cabinet airflow must move warm air past the heat sink without external ducts. Reliable operation is maintained at ambient temperatures from 0 to 45 °C. Direct digital communication also reduces susceptibility to electrical noise that can affect conventional analog command lines in larger machine cabinets.
Installation is allowed up to 1000 m above sea level, and higher elevations require output derating. During storage or shipment, the electronics withstand temperatures from -30 to 85 °C. Position loops can be resolved through digital servo feedback for high-speed accuracy or through resolver feedback when rugged analog sensing is preferred. This flexibility allows the same controller family to be matched with different motor feedback devices already used in installed systems. The controller is part of Line 02, uses Version 2, and carries Function ID 01.
