The DDS drive controllers by Bosch Rexroth are dynamic automation devices designed to control the operations of AC servo motors. In general, a DDS drive controller is made up of hardware and firmware. Their common applications include printing and packaging machines, handling equipment, and robotics.
The DDS02.2-W200-BE45-01 is an intelligent drive controller in the DDS series. Like other DDS models, it can be integrated with AC motors with a resolver encoder or digital feedback encoder. Its SERCOS interface functions as a communication technology, and it allows the operation of digital drives with SERCOS-compatible controls via a fiber optic cable. This drive controller employs the heat technology cooling method; thus, it is installed in a large control cabinet. The cabinet has a protection rating of IP 10 per EN 60529 standard. The rated current of this device is 200A. If there is a need for its replacement, its software module ensures the transfer of the motor parameters to the new drive control unit.
The protection class of the DDS02.2-W200-BE45-01 is IP 20; thus, this controller has complete protection against penetration by external solid objects with a diameter of 12mm or more. It should also be installed at a maximum height of 1000m above sea level. The INDRAMAT motor power cable is the ideal connection medium of this device to AC motors. However, a suitable connection cable can also be made following the specifications in the product manual. This drive controller should be kept in a space with a temperature range of -30°C to +80°C to retain its functionality during prolonged storage. It also requires a room with a maximum relative humidity of 95% for its operations.
