Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DDS03.2-W015-BE56-01-FW within the DDS Drive Controllers series. Classified as a digital AC servo drive controller, the unit forms the power and communication link between Indramat synchronous motors and higher-level automation controls. By modulating three-phase output from a regulated DC bus, the controller positions machinery axes with closed-loop accuracy required in packaging, printing, and material-handling lines. It accepts parameter sets downloaded from the machine controller to adapt torque, speed, and acceleration profiles.

For networked motion systems, it exchanges real-time setpoints and status through a SERCOS interface, allowing deterministic cycle synchronization with other drives on the fiber ring. Output current is limited to 15 A, matching medium-frame Indramat motors while keeping semiconductor junction temperatures within design limits. Thermal energy is removed by air from inside the control cabinet, so cabinet airflow must not be obstructed. Component ingress protection is IP20, which indicates finger-safe terminals but no liquid sealing, so the unit is intended for protected electrical enclosures. The controller is intended for reliable turn-on and continuous operation between 0 – 45 °C, aligning with standard switchgear ambient conditions.

During transport or extended downtime, the controller can be stored at -30 – 85 °C without degrading electrolytic capacitor life. Installation altitudes up to 1000 m are acceptable before derating, allowing full output in most plant locations. Position feedback from the motor is processed through digital servo feedback and resolver feedback channels, permitting use with high-resolution encoders and rugged resolver transducers. The unit is part of Line 03 and uses Function ID Version 01 for this control configuration. The drive is Version 2, which identifies the product generation used for this model.
