Product Description:
The DDS02.2-W015-BE24-01-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the DDS Drive Controllers series. It bridges a power supply module and a servo motor by generating commanded current and voltage profiles for closed-loop motion control. Its control section regulates torque-producing current so the motor can respond accurately to changing load and speed commands. In automated cells, the drive forms part of the motion chain that converts controller commands into regulated motor behavior at the shaft.
The controller supplies a continuous output of 15 A, so connected motors receive adequate phase current without overloading the drive during continuous operation. Communication with the higher-level PLC is carried over the SERCOS interface, which transfers real-time setpoints and status data across a fiber-optic ring. This communication method supports synchronized data exchange for coordinated axis control in multi-drive systems. The housing has an IP20 rating, which allows finger-safe cabinet installation but still requires an enclosure where dust or moisture are present. Cooling relies on internal air cooling, drawing cabinet air across the heat sink and eliminating the need for external ducting. Because the module uses cabinet air for heat removal, the surrounding panel must provide a clear airflow path around the heat sink.
The unit is assigned Line 02 and Version 2, and it uses Function ID 01 within the DDS platform. These identifiers distinguish the product line and revision used by this model. It accepts motor position data from digital servo feedback or resolver signals, allowing use with different compatible feedback formats. The drive can operate in ambient temperatures from 0–45 °C at elevations up to 1000 m. During extended shutdown or shipment, it can be stored at temperatures from -30–85 °C without power applied.
