The DDS02.2-W050-B drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the DDS Drive Controllers series. As a modular servo drive controller, it regulates torque, speed, and position of connected AC servo motors within automated machinery and transfer lines. It interfaces with the DC bus of a Rexroth supply unit and executes real-time current loops so motion axes follow commanded profiles in packaging, printing, and material-handling cells. This operating role suits coordinated axes that must accelerate, decelerate, and hold position with repeatable response during cyclic machine operation.

An internal air cooling path draws air from inside the control cabinet and expels it through the housing fins, so cabinet temperature must be controlled to support stable operation. This arrangement uses cabinet air rather than a separate external blower, so the drive’s heat load remains inside the enclosure. The controller operates from a DC bus of 300 V DC ±15 %, allowing direct connection to 24 kW class supply modules without additional conversion. Continuous current capacity is 50 A, and short-duty surges can reach 50 A peak current during acceleration demands. Position feedback can be processed through digital servo feedback and resolver feedback. This supports use with high-resolution encoders as well as resolver transducers. The unit is part of Line 02 and Version 2 of the DDS platform, and its assembled mass is 7.5 kg.

The controller may be mounted in ambient temperatures up to 55 °C, with linear derating above 45 °C. It remains functional at site elevations up to 1000 m, where air density is still sufficient for heat removal under the stated limits. Absolute water content must not exceed 25 g/m³, and relative humidity must stay below 95 % without condensation. These operating limits require noncondensing enclosure conditions so the drive electronics maintain insulation performance and resist moisture-related corrosion during service. Moisture on conductive surfaces can also interfere with stable power-stage and feedback operation.
