The DDS2.1-W100 is a digital AC servo drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. In an automation cell, it accepts motion commands from a PLC, processes motor feedback, and modulates the inverter stages so that commanded speed, torque, and position are achieved with minimal following error. The product functions as the closed-loop interface that couples higher-level control logic to the electromechanical behavior of synchronous or induction servo motors.

The power section permits a peak phase current of 100 A while sustaining a continuous current of 40 A, and the thermal design allows up to 380 W of power dissipation through its heat sink and control-cabinet airflow. Logic electronics draw 150 mA from each ±15 V rail and 500 mA from the 24 V service supply. A separate current limit of 60 A for both peak and continuous duty is provided on the second rating channel to match smaller motors. Command and diagnostic data reach the controller through a V.24 / RS-232C service interface, and motor feedback enters at the X2 15-pin D-Sub connector. Field wiring is secured with 5 Nm torque on terminals A1–A3 and 3 Nm on the L-, L+ and PE studs. The housing stands 390 mm high, 325 mm deep, and has an IP20 rating that is suitable for mounting inside a sealed electrical enclosure.

For reliable field operation, the unit tolerates relative humidity up to 95 % or an absolute moisture content of 25 g/m³ without condensation. It operates between 0 to 45 °C and can be stored safely from -30 to 85 °C. Installation is permitted at altitudes up to 1000 m above sea level before derating becomes necessary. Encoder leads may run up to 75 m to accommodate large machine footprints while still maintaining signal integrity through the differential-serial feedback channel.
