Product Description:
The DDS2.1-W025-RS16-00 is a digital AC servo drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. It forms the power and control interface between an industrial motion axis and the plant's master automation system. By converting low-level command data into regulated three-phase currents, the unit drives synchronous or induction servomotors with precise torque and velocity control. Its design targets multi-axis packaging, printing, and material-handling equipment where coordinated movement and compact cabinet space are critical.
Electrically, the controller communicates with the motion processor over a fiber-optic SERCOS interface, while a secondary 15-pin D-Sub port is available for RS-232 service diagnostics. Internally, the power stage is referenced to a 300 V DC link, and the listed output current is limited to 25 A, allowing direct connection to medium-frame motors. Position feedback from the machine axis is processed through a resolver interface, giving pseudo-absolute angle information at power-up. Protective design features include a housing classified as IP20 against accidental contact, and the M5 screw power terminal must be tightened to 3 Nm to maintain low-impedance ground continuity.
Physical installation parameters are set to keep the drive reliable in the cabinet. The allowed ambient range is 0 to 45 °C, and storage is permitted from -30 to 85 °C for spare inventory. Cabinets situated up to 1000 m above sea level require no output derating. The front panel measures 105 mm wide and 390 mm tall, so adjacent modules must be spaced for airflow. Mounting holes accept M6 hardware, and each screw is tightened to 5 Nm. Brake control wiring uses a 0.75 mm² conductor and is energized by a 24 VDC supply from the host PLC.
