The DDS2.1-W015-D digital AC servo drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the DDS Drive Controllers series. It is intended for cabinet-mounted automation systems, where it converts a fixed DC bus input into a controlled three-phase output for a compatible motor. The controller processes digital servo feedback to regulate torque, speed, and position in coordinated motion axes used in packaging lines, printing presses, and general material-handling equipment. This closed-loop operation helps the motor follow commanded motion profiles during acceleration, steady running, and positioning tasks.
Its DC link accepts up to 300 VDC with a tolerance of ±15 percent, and the output stage switches this bus at high frequency to supply the motor. Continuous phase current is limited to 15 A, so the connected motor and machine load must remain within that operating range during normal use. The control electronics draw 500 mA from the +24 V logic rail and 150 mA from each ±15 V analog rail, so the cabinet power supply must support these control demands. The enclosure is rated IP20, which provides protection against accidental finger contact and limits installation to a closed cabinet with internal air cooling. Because the housing is not protected against water entry, it is intended for enclosed indoor electrical installations rather than exposed machine surfaces.
Operation is permitted from 0 to 45 °C without derating, and storage is allowed from -30 °C to 85 °C when the unit is not in use. Installation altitude must not exceed 1000 m above sea level so normal air density can support heat removal inside the cabinet. The drive housing is 390 mm high and 325 mm deep, dimensions that should be considered when planning panel spacing and clearance around adjacent devices. Relative humidity may reach 95 percent, with a maximum absolute moisture content of 25 g/m³, provided that no ice forms on internal components. These operating and mounting limits should be observed so the controller can be installed in a suitable cabinet environment.
