The DDS02.1-W150-DS12-01 is a digital AC servo drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. Acting as the axis amplifier in modular automation cabinets, it converts velocity and position commands from CNC or PLC hardware into controlled three-phase motor output. This closed-loop operation lets the drive respond quickly to load changes during indexing, interpolation, and repeated start-stop cycles. It is intended for systems that need repeatable acceleration and precise speed regulation over changing duty cycles. The unit is suited for industrial robots, gantries, and material-handling stations where stable motion control and coordinated axis behavior are required.
Within the electrical section, the controller delivers a continuous phase current of 150 A, allowing it to drive large torque motors without derating under normal operating conditions. Command and diagnostic data are exchanged over the SERCOS interface, which provides deterministic timing for synchronized axes and supports reliable communication with the higher-level control system. Heat from the power stage is removed through internal air cooling, so the cabinet must provide clear airflow across the module. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, which provides finger-safe protection but is intended for use inside a protected electrical cabinet. Rotor position is returned to the drive by digital servo feedback, allowing the controller to calculate commutation angles and correct positional error during each control cycle.
Continuous operation is permitted between 0 – 45 °C, which supports typical cabinet installations with controlled ambient air. The unit can be stored or transported within -30 – 85 °C without harming internal components when it is not in service. Reliable operation is specified up to 1000 m above sea level, and installations above that height require reduced current loading or additional cooling capacity. The drive uses Function ID version 01, which identifies the control function set used by this controller. These operating limits affect enclosure ventilation, mounting location, and the thermal conditions maintained around the drive during machine operation.
