The DDS02.1-W050-DS68-00-FW is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the DDS Drive Controllers series. As a digital AC servo control unit, it regulates three-phase servo motor currents in automated packaging lines, gantry loaders, and machining centers. Mounted inside a control cabinet, it receives setpoint words from a motion coordinator, computes real-time PWM patterns, and supplies regulated power to the attached servo. This arrangement supports fast updates to torque and speed commands while leaving higher-level control focused on machine coordination. Its compact card-frame format conserves panel space and aligns with standard DDS back-plane connectors.
The controller delivers a continuous output of 50 A, so medium-power axes can accelerate quickly while staying within thermal limits. A fiber-optic SERCOS interface carries cyclic position, velocity, and diagnostic data with 62.5 µs telegram timing, permitting tight multi-axis coordination. Cabinet heat is removed by internal air cooling, with ambient air drawn across the heat sink rather than through external ducting. It is intended to operate with matched power supplies, brake choppers, and network gateways that complete the multi-axis system around the controller. Matched power supplies feed the DC bus, brake choppers absorb regenerative energy during deceleration, and network gateways extend communication with surrounding automation hardware where required. The rack-based layout keeps wiring organized inside the cabinet and lets companion modules share the same mechanical platform. Real-time current regulation and direct feedback processing allow the controller to support precise axis motion without shifting those control tasks to the host PLC.
