The DDS02.2-W050-BE78-00-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. In automated machinery, it converts DC-bus energy into precisely modulated three-phase output and closes the velocity and position loops for a connected axis. This allows the drive to regulate motor motion accurately during starting, running, and stopping while exchanging data with the higher-level control system. Because current, speed, and position control are handled inside the drive, the connected motor can follow commanded motion profiles with consistent response under changing load.

The drive provides a continuous output of 50 A, allowing medium-power servomotors to reach commanded torque without current clipping. All parameter data and real-time commands travel over the SERCOS interface, so the unit can operate in deterministic fiber-optic rings with short cycle times and synchronized control updates. Cooling depends on air from inside the control cabinet, so cabinet ventilation must move enough air to keep the heat sink within its allowed temperature range.
