Bosch Rexroth Indramat produced the DDS02.2-W050-BE34-02-FW as part of the DDS Drive Controllers series. The unit functions as a digital AC servo drive controller, coordinating torque and speed loops for synchronous and induction motors in industrial automation lines. By integrating into multi-axis cabinets, it serves as the final power stage between a motion control system and the connected motor, converting control commands into regulated motor output. This arrangement lets the drive respond quickly to motion commands from a higher-level controller while keeping the power electronics concentrated inside the cabinet.

Communication occurs through the SERCOS interface, allowing deterministic cycle times when the drive is connected to a compatible motion controller. The power section delivers up to 50 A of continuous output current, which supports substantial motor torque during steady operation. Heat is removed by internal air cooling, which draws cabinet air across the heat sink so the unit can operate in ambient temperatures from 0 – 45 °C. The drive has an IP20 rating and must be mounted inside a closed electrical cabinet. Because cooling air is taken from inside the enclosure, cabinet ventilation must prevent excessive heat buildup around adjacent modules. The product is part of Line 02 and Version 2 in the DDS range.

The controller supports both digital servo feedback and resolver feedback, allowing it to work with different motor feedback systems based on the axis requirements. Digital servo feedback is suited to applications that need higher position resolution, while resolver feedback supports robust speed and position monitoring with simpler feedback hardware. This flexibility is useful in systems where installed motors may use different feedback formats. Installation altitude is limited to 1000 m above sea level, which helps maintain normal cooling performance in enclosed equipment. For storage or transport, the unit can remain in temperatures from −30 – 85 °C without damage to its electrical and mechanical components.
