The DDS03.1-W030-RS03-03-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the DDS Drive Controllers series. It forms the interface between a motion control system and the power stage that energizes servo motors on automated lines. This allows the drive to regulate position, speed, and torque in packaging, printing, and general-purpose machinery. It can be used on feed axes, conveyors, and positioning units that require repeatable motor control from a centralized automation system. Because the control functions are handled in the drive, the connected motor can follow programmed motion profiles with stable response.

This controller communicates with the master PLC through a SERCOS interface, so fiber-optic rings can carry real-time command values and diagnostic data without additional fieldbus modules. Feedback from the motor arrives as resolver feedback, allowing the drive to monitor shaft position for closed-loop control during operation. Heat generated by the output stage is removed by air drawn from inside the control cabinet, so adequate spacing around the unit is required for airflow. The drive supplies up to 30 A of continuous output current, matching medium-frame motors used on indexers or gantries. Electrical parts are protected against finger contact and small objects by the IP20 housing. This combination supports stable speed regulation and smooth torque delivery when load conditions change during machine operation.

The controller is intended for ambient operation from 0 to 45 °C and for long-term storage from -30 to 85 °C. Installation is permitted up to 1000 m above sea level before derating is required, which covers most indoor industrial locations. The unit is part of Line 03 and uses hardware version 1. These operating limits suit normal factory service and warehouse storage when the unit is not energized.
