Bosch Rexroth Indramat designs the DDS02.2-W200-BE23-01 drive controller as part of the DDS Drive Controllers series. The unit is a digital AC servo drive controller intended to regulate torque, speed, and position for synchronous and induction motors used in automated machinery. Installed within a control cabinet, it exchanges real-time data with higher-level PLCs to support coordinated multi-axis motion on assembly lines, packaging systems, and material-handling stations. The drive regulates motor current in real time so acceleration, steady-state speed, and stopping behavior remain consistent during repeated machine cycles. Its modular hardware card concept supports different interface arrangements for specific machine requirements.

The controller has a rated output current of 200 A, enabling it to drive medium-to-large servo motors without overloading the power stage. Command and diagnostic data are carried over a SERCOS interface, allowing deterministic communication through fiber-optic cabling. Thermal management uses air from inside the control cabinet, so the enclosure needs adequate internal airflow and sufficient space around heat-dissipating surfaces. The housing has IP20 protection, which provides finger-safe access protection but does not seal the unit against dust. The controller can operate at ambient temperatures of 0 – 45 °C and at elevations up to 1000 m above sea level without altitude derating.

During storage or transport, the unit can withstand temperatures from -30 – 85 °C. Position and speed control can use digital servo feedback and resolver feedback, which allows compatibility with a range of motor feedback devices. This feedback flexibility supports machine layouts that combine newer encoder-based motors with legacy resolver-equipped motors. The controller is part of Line 02 and uses Function ID 01 with Version 2 for identification within the DDS platform. This helps distinguish the drive variant in systems that use multiple controller types.
