Product Description:
The DDS02.2-W050-BE31-00 is a digital AC servo drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DDS Drive Controllers series. It converts command signals from CNC or PLC equipment into regulated phase currents that drive synchronous and induction motors on packaging lines, machine tools, and material-handling axes. The unit mounts on a common backplane with matching power supplies, allowing it to operate as part of a modular multi-axis drive system. It occupies a slot in a sealed control cabinet, where it links plant-level motion commands to the electrical energy delivered to each motor.
I/O with host control systems is handled through the SERCOS interface, a deterministic fiber-optic bus that transports setpoints and feedback data during each communication cycle. This interface supports synchronized command exchange between the drive and higher-level control hardware. The drive can deliver a continuous output of 50 A during normal operation. The enclosure is rated IP20, so fingers and small tools are kept away from live parts, but the unit must remain inside a cabinet. Heat from the power electronics is removed by internal air cooling, which draws cabinet air across the heat sink rather than relying on an external blower. Position information is accepted through digital servo feedback and resolver feedback, allowing the controller to work with motors equipped with either feedback style.
Installation is permitted up to 1000 m above sea level without derating. The controller operates in ambient temperatures from 0–45 °C, which suits standard factory areas when cabinet ventilation is adequate. For storage, the electronics can withstand temperatures from -30–85 °C when the unit is not in use, which helps protect components during indoor warehousing and transport. The drive is part of DDS line 02 architecture and is Version 2.
