DDS03.1-W050-RS01-02-FW is a digital drive controller. It is part of the DDS series from Bosch Rexroth. The controller has one slot for an optional plug module. It has additional slots for a software module and for a communication module. The modular controller design gives operators flexibility in selecting hardware based features required by application. In addition, the ability to choose the correct firmware also provides flexibility in choosing controller features. The firmware for the DDS03.1-W050-RS01-02-FW must be ordered separately. Firmware for the controller and configuration parameters are stored on the software module. In the event of controller failure, this software module can be moved to a different controller. The DDS03.1-W050-RS01-02-FW controller is designed to deliver 50 Amps output under optimal operating condition. These optimal ambient conditions include 0 to 45 degrees Celsius temperature and 0 to 1000 meters site elevation. Output of the unit derates i.e. falls below rated value if either the temperature or site elevation exceeds these specified limits. The maximum permitted limits for temperature and elevation with derated output are 55 degrees Celsius and 5000 meters respectively. Housing of the DDS03.1-W050-RS01-02-FW controller belongs to IP20 category. The controller is designed for air cooling: the air inlet is at the bottom of the unit and the outlet is at the top of the unit. Bosch recommends 40 millimeter spacing on the front side of the mounted unit. Bosch also recommends 80 millimeter spacing on the top and bottom side of the mounted unit. Weight of the DDS03.1-W050-RS01-02-FW controller is 5.5 kilograms and its dimensions are 355 x 325 x 70 millimeters.
