Product Description:
The DDS02.1-W050-DS03-02-FW is a servo drive controller developed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. Installed inside a control cabinet, it delivers regulated power to synchronous and asynchronous motors so that motion profiles programmed in higher-level automation systems are executed with controlled torque and speed. By managing current, voltage, and feedback loops in real time, the unit provides the axis positioning accuracy required in packaging, printing, and general material-handling equipment. This operating role makes it suitable for automated axes that need repeatable starts, stops, and speed changes during normal production.
Communication with the controller is established through the SERCOS interface, allowing deterministic exchange of setpoints and status over fiber-optic rings at cycle times below a millisecond. The power stage is dimensioned for a continuous phase current of 50 A, permitting the drive to run medium-frame servo motors without derating. Heat generated by switching devices is removed by air from inside the control cabinet, so enclosure airflow planning is necessary to maintain safe semiconductor temperatures. The housing carries an IP20 rating, which provides finger-safe touch protection while relying on the cabinet for dust and moisture shielding. Position and velocity loops close through digital servo feedback, which returns motor position data to the drive for high-resolution control across the specified 0 – 45 °C ambient range.
Continuous operation is specified up to 1000 m above sea level, so thermal performance remains within its intended range in most factory locations. During shutdown or shipment, the electronics tolerate a storage range of -30 – 85 °C when temperature changes are managed to limit condensation. The controller is Version 1. Observing these operating and storage limits helps maintain stable performance and protects the drive during installation, transport, and idle periods.
