The DDS02.1-W100-DS41-00-FW is a drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It supervises torque, speed, and position loops for synchronous or induction motors used in automated production cells, handling real-time adjustments that a PLC alone cannot manage. When installed inside a control cabinet, the unit forms the power and communication bridge between a host motion CPU and the machine’s servo actuators, allowing deterministic coordination across multiple axes. This arrangement keeps high-speed motor control inside the drive while the higher-level controller manages the overall machine sequence. Local regulation also helps the axis respond quickly to changing load conditions.

This controller delivers a continuous output of 100 A, supplying the high peak currents demanded by fast-cycling machinery without derating. A built-in SERCOS interface provides fiber-optic communication so drive parameters, diagnostics, and cyclic setpoints reach the servo network in 32-µs telegrams. Feedback from connected motors is evaluated with digital servo feedback, giving the controller single-turn or multi-turn position data in serial format instead of analog tachometer signals. Thermal losses are removed through internal air cooling, and cabinet air moves across the heat sink without the need for an external blower on the drive itself. The controller belongs to Line 02, which uses a matching power stage geometry and connector layout across that DDS line.

The control program is supplied as a separate firmware subitem, so the same power stage can be paired with application-specific software for presses, packaging, or robotics. The unit is built as Version 1. It is a Digital AC servo drive controller that supports parameter cloning and synchronous sampling for field-oriented control, and the DDS Drive Controllers format keeps mounting rails, busbars, and fiber jumpers aligned with adjacent drives in the cabinet. That shared format also keeps bus connections and optical links aligned when several axes are mounted side by side.
