The DDS drive controllers are versatile drive control units built by INDRAMAT. These devices are modular and can be configured for specific functions upon delivery. They are components of the DDS system. A configured DDS drive controller consists of the basic unit - a drive controller - plugin modules, software components, and firmware that determine the functions of the controller. Common applications of these products are seen in textile machines, robotics, printing and packaging machines, and handling machines.
The DDS02.2-W100-BE34-01-FW is a model of the second line of DDS drive controllers. In this device, heat is dissipated via heat technology; thus, it may require air conditioning. It is also best mounted into a large control cabinet with a protection rating of IP 10. The control cabinet is protected against penetration by solid objects with a diameter over 50mm. This drive controller features a SERCOS interface that offers inputs for the evaluation of reference switches, travel range limit switches, and sensor inputs. The use of firmware is allowed; however, it is to be updated regularly to maintain the efficiency of the controller.
When connecting to AC motors such as the MDD, LSF, and LAR motors, the DDS02.2-W100-BE34-01-FW uses the INDRAMAT power cable. The cable contributes to the prevention of thermal overload in motors as it has a shielded pair of cables for motor temperature monitoring. This drive controller is also designed for motors with digital servo and resolver feedback encoders. It is an IP 20-rated product, according to EN 60529. As a result, while it does not protect against water damage, it is protected against penetration by solid external objects with a diameter greater than 12mm.
