The Bosch Rexroth DDS02.1-W150-DS37-00 is a digital drive. The functionality of the drive is determined by the features sets that are supported by the firmware. Bosch provides different versions of the firmware that are optimized for different applications. For this reason the firmware has to be ordered separately. The DDS02.1-W150-DS37-00 has a modular architecture in terms of hardware also. The basic unit has five slots that allow installation of a range of optional modules. One slot is reserved for the software module that houses the firmware and drive operating parameters. One slot is reserved for a command communication module, which in the case of the DDS02.1-W150-DS37-00 is SERCOS.
