Product Description:
DDS02.1-W050-D-DL01-01-FW is a 50 Amps rated digital drive controller. It is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth and is part of the DDS series. DDS controllers have a modular design. Each controller is comprised of a basic unit with slots. Two slots are dedicated for fixed modules and three slots are available for optional plug in modules. The dedicated slots include a slot for a software module and a slot for a communication module. The purpose of the software module is to store the firmware, which determines drive functionality, and the drive configuration parameters. The software module serves several purposes: its contents can be copied to other software modules, and it can be removed and installed on another drive to speed up commissioning. The software module provides flexibility to operators, who can remove it from a faulty controller to a replacement unit and minimized downtime due to controller failures. Several options are available for the communication module, including SERCOS, analog interface, and Interbus. The communication module installed on the DDS02.1-W050-D-DL01-01-FW is a single-axis position control module. Other controller features include support for digital servo feedback and air cooling. The enclosure of the unit belongs to IP20 protection category. As a result, the controller can be deployed indoors. However, for outdoor use, it must be installed inside a cabinet that provides suitable protection from the elements. The DC bus voltage on the controller is 300 Volts DC. The maximum peak current is 50 Amps and the continuous output current is 40 Amps. Current consumption of the basic unit is 150 milliamps at ±15 Volts DC and 500 milliamps at +24 Volts DC. Bosch has designed the unit for professional operation.
