The Bosch Rexroth DDS02.1-W015-DS04-03-FW is a modular drive controller. The basic unit of the controller has empty slots that can be filled with modules to suit any particular application. There are five slot on the basic unit: two are reserved and three can be used for plug-in modules. The reserved slots include a slot for the software module and a slot for the command communication module. The software module is used to store the firmware and operating parameters for the drive. A software module can be copied to other software modules which can then be installed on drives to speed up the commissioning process. The software module from a faulty drive can be moved to a replacement drive to speed up troubleshooting and minimize the machine downtime.
The firmware for the DDS02.1-W015-DS04-03-FW drive has to be ordered as a separate subposition. The command communication module installed on the drive is SERCOS. The rated current of the drive is 15 Amps. The drive also supports digital servo feedback. DDS drives are compatible with MDD servo motors. The drive controller – servo motor combination forms an effective drive system that is well suited to applications such as handling systems, robotics, textile machines and packaging machines. A signal processor on the DDS02.1-W015-DS04-03-FW is responsible for all control, monitoring and diagnostics functions.
