The DDS02.1-W015-DS04-03-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the DDS Drive Controllers series. Designed to regulate the current, velocity, and position of compatible servo motors, it forms the drive side of closed-loop motion axes in automated machine tools, packaging lines, and handling systems. The controller accepts command data from remote motion coordinators and then modulates the inverter stage accordingly. It converts DC-bus power into controlled motor output for precise axis movement, allowing coordinated motion during feeding, indexing, and positioning tasks. Because the control loops are handled inside the drive, connected motors can respond consistently to rapid start, stop, and speed-change commands.

It communicates with higher-level controllers through a SERCOS interface, allowing synchronized parameter exchange across multiple axes. The output stage provides a continuous 15 A of motor current, which suits medium-power servo applications. Thermal energy is removed by internal air cooling, so cabinet air passes across the heat sink without external ducts. An enclosure rating of IP20 limits the unit to protected control cabinets where accidental contact and solid ingress are minimal. Position and velocity loops rely on digital servo feedback, giving the controller real-time rotor data for tight regulation under dynamic load changes. This combination of feedback and communication helps the drive maintain accurate motion during acceleration, deceleration, and changing process loads.

The controller is intended for operation within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 45 °C. When it is not energized, storage is permitted from -30 to 85 °C. Installations up to 1000 m above sea level are supported without derating. The unit is built for Version 1, which identifies the product revision used for this controller. These limits support normal use in standard indoor control cabinets and also allow the unit to remain in storage before installation without affecting basic operating readiness.
