Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DDS02.1-W050-RL01-01-FW as part of the DDS Drive Controllers series. As a digital AC servo drive controller, it serves as the power and motion control interface between a higher-level PLC and a single servo axis. The controller converts incoming motion commands into regulated motor action for precise axis movement. This layout keeps axis regulation close to the power stage, which supports stable response during commanded motion changes. It is used in automated assembly cells and machining centers where one axis must follow commanded speed, torque, and position values with closed-loop control.

The drive supplies a continuous output of 50 A, so compatible motors can be operated without derating at that current level. Its control loop accepts single-axis position control commands, allowing the device to generate position, velocity, and torque functions locally and reducing PLC cycle load. Rotor angle is returned through resolver feedback, which uses an analog signal that remains resistant to electrical noise inside production cabinets. Heat is removed by air from inside the control cabinet, so thermal planning relies on the panel ventilation path rather than an external fan. Because the cooling air comes from within the enclosure, cabinet airflow must be managed so heat does not build up around the drive. The housing has an IP20 rating that helps prevent finger contact with live parts. Rated performance is maintained at ambient temperatures from 0 °C to 45 °C and at elevations up to 1000 m above sea level.

The unit belongs to Line 02 and carries Function ID 01. It is released as Version 1 with Function ID version 01. During transport or long-term outage, the electronics tolerate ambient temperatures from -30 °C to 85 °C. This storage range is separate from the normal operating range. It applies only while the cabinet is powered down.
