Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DDS02.1-W015-DS51-02-FW drive controller, a member of the DDS Drive Controllers series. As a digital AC servo drive controller, it links power modules with servo motors to regulate torque, speed, and position in factory automation lines such as material-handling gantries, packaging stations, and printing presses. In multi-axis systems, the unit converts regulated DC-bus energy into controlled motor current so each axis can follow commanded motion with stable closed-loop response. This makes it suitable for coordinated motion tasks where repeatability and axis accuracy are required throughout normal machine operation.
The controller delivers a continuous output of 15 A, allowing it to operate medium-power servo motors in demanding motion applications. Electrical commands and synchronization data reach the unit over the SERCOS interface, so setpoint values and status information move through a fiber-optic ring with deterministic timing. Thermal management uses air from inside the control cabinet, which means the enclosure must provide clear airflow around the heat sink surfaces. The housing has an IP20 rating after installation in a cabinet, helping protect against accidental contact with internal live parts. Rotor position and velocity are returned through digital servo feedback, allowing the drive to close the control loop directly and maintain stable motion under changing load conditions.
The drive operates in ambient temperatures from 0–45 °C and can be stored between −30–85 °C when it is not powered. Full performance is available up to 1000 m above sea level, which suits standard indoor machine installations without special cooling measures. The unit belongs to Line 02 and is Version 1, which places it within the established DDS product generation. Internal diagnostics pass fault information to the higher-level control system so the machine can react quickly to communication loss, feedback faults, or other abnormal operating conditions.
