The DDS digital drive controller series is a family of drive controllers designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. The drive controllers in the series are components of the modular and highly flexible DDS drive system. AC servo and main drives in this system are combined to create drive packages where single supply units are used. The DDS drive controllers also function as rapid-response drives.
The DDS02.2-W015-BE14-01-FW is a model of the DDS digital drive controllers in Bosch Rexroth’s DDS drive system. It is a Version 2 model that implements the heat technology cooling mechanism. Here, heat is eliminated within the control cabinet; hence, the use of a large control cabinet with air conditioning is required. It is ideal for controlling motors with digital servo feedback or resolver feedback and is operated with a rated current of 15A. Thanks to its compact design, the drive controller can easily be mounted in a control cabinet with its supply unit. The control cabinet cannot be penetrated by solid extrinsic objects larger than 50mm.
Firmware can be used with the DDS02.2-W015-BE14-01-FW, and it fixes the functional features of the drive controller. With the SERCOS interface plugin module of the drive controller, it can be used to operate compatible digital drives. This is done using a fiber optic cable; hence safe and rapid data exchange is guaranteed. An added advantage of the plugin module is that it offers inputs used for evaluating reference switches, travel range limit switches, and sensor inputs. Based on the EN 60529 specification, this drive controller belongs to the IP 20 protection category, indicating that it is protected from the entry of solid objects over 12mm.
