Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DDS02.2-W015-BE33-01-FW within the DDS Drive Controllers series. As a digital AC servo drive controller, it supplies regulated current and voltage to synchronous or induction servomotors, translating numerical commands from a motion program into controlled motor movement. The unit acts as the link between PLC logic and mechanical actuation in conveyor sections, pick-and-place arms, and other production cells. This type of controller is used where coordinated acceleration, speed control, and stopping must be maintained across repeated machine cycles.
The controller exchanges real-time process data over a SERCOS interface, allowing deterministic communication with multi-axis masters. Continuous output is limited to 15 A under rated conditions. Heat produced at this load is removed by internal cabinet air cooling, so unobstructed airflow inside the enclosure is required. The housing has an IP20 rating, which provides finger-safe protection but no sealing against moisture. The drive operates in ambient temperatures from 0 to 45 °C, which suits typical control-cabinet environments. Because the cooling method depends on cabinet airflow, blocked vents or tightly packed modules can reduce thermal margin during continuous operation.
