The Bosch DDS02.2-W015-BE33-01-FW is a DDS series drive controller. It is developed for motor control in industrial control applications. Multiple DDS controllers can be run from a single power supply that delivers regulated 24 Volts DC output. The controller has modular architecture that allows adaptation to varying customer requirements. Each controller has a basic unit with five slots for a software module, a command communication module and optional modules. The software module contains the firmware and operating parameters. It can be removed and installed on a replacement drive if required. The command communication module installed on the DDS02.2-W015-BE33-01-FW is SERCOS. This is a standard for real-time communication over fiber optic media. The nodes on a SERCOS network are deployed in ring topology which provides a backup path in case a single node fails or a single fiber is cut at one location.
The DDS02.2-W015-BE33-01-FW supports two motor feedback methods that are digital servo feedback and resolver feedback. This allows use of the controller with motors that support either of the two feedback methods. The rated output of the DDS02.2-W015-BE33-01-FW is 15 Amps. This output is valid if ambient conditions correspond to those that are specified in the product documentation. The DDS02.2-W015-BE33-01-FW is designed for heat technology: it dissipates heat inside the control cabinet. The inlet for the cool air is located on the bottom side of the controller. The outlet for the heated air is located at the op side of the controller. The controller dimensions are 355 x 105 x 325 millimeters. For proper ventilation Bosch recommends providing 80 millimeters of spacing at the top and bottom sides and 40 millimeters of spacing in front of the installed controller.
