The DDS02.1-W050-DS13-00 is a digital AC servo drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DDS Drive Controllers series. It converts incoming DC bus energy into phase-controlled output for synchronous or asynchronous servo motors and exchanges real-time setpoints with a PLC over a fiber-optic ring. Within an automation rack, the unit governs velocity, torque, and position loops so that mechanical axes in presses, pick-and-place units, or conveyors follow commanded motion profiles with repeatable accuracy. Because the controller handles motion loop regulation inside the drive, the higher-level control system can send command values while the unit manages rapid current and position corrections locally.

The controller communicates over a SERCOS interface, allowing deterministic cyclic data exchange and standardized parameter handling with the higher-level control system.
