Product Description:
The DDS02.2-W015-BE23-01-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the DDS Drive Controllers series. It converts motion commands into regulated three-phase output so that connected servomotors follow setpoints for position, speed, and torque. Installed in a control cabinet next to the supply module, the unit provides closed-loop axis control for industrial packaging, printing, and material-handling machinery. In this role, it regulates motor current quickly enough to correct load changes and maintain stable motion during acceleration, deceleration, and holding phases. Its modular format also lets it operate as one axis within a larger multi-drive system that shares cabinet space and common power hardware.
The controller has a continuous current capacity of 15 A, which is the maximum motor load it can support during normal operation without thermal overload. High-speed communication occurs over the SERCOS interface, a real-time fiber-optic ring used for synchronized multi-axis control. Heat is removed by air drawn from inside the control cabinet, so the enclosure must provide suitable airflow around the heat sink. The feedback input accepts digital servo feedback and resolver feedback, allowing the drive to work with motors that use either encoder format. That combination supports both newer digital motor feedback systems and resolver-based installations already in service. The unit is part of Line 02, which keeps it compatible with standard DDS backplane connections and cabinet layouts.
The controller is Version 2, indicating the second hardware release of this model. It uses Function ID Version 01, which keeps the parameter structure consistent for the matching operating software. The required operating software is ordered separately rather than supplied in the controller. This allows the software selection to match the intended motor and application. The modular platform also allows the drive to be installed beside compatible supply modules and neighboring axes in the same cabinet.
