The DDS02.1-W050-DL09-01-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. Mounted inside a control cabinet, this module links the DC bus of a supply unit to one servo motor and forms the closed-loop actuator layer in machine tools, material-handling gantries, and pick-and-place stations. Its purpose is to translate motion commands from the PLC into precise current, speed, and position changes for automated motion control. The drive is intended for single-axis use, so it is suited to applications where one motor must respond accurately to commanded movement and changing load conditions.

During active duty, the controller can deliver a continuous phase current of 50 A, so connected motor windings and power conductors must be able to carry that load without overheating. Thermal energy is removed by air drawn from inside the control cabinet, which avoids external ductwork but requires sufficient enclosure airflow around the module. Electrical protection is limited to IP20, which helps prevent accidental finger contact with live parts but does not protect against dust or liquids. All control functions remain accurate within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 45 °C. For storage or shipment, it tolerates ambient temperatures from -30 to 85 °C without damage to electronic components or capacitors. Once installed, performance remains nominal up to 1000 m above sea level, and higher elevations require derating because reduced air density lowers cooling effectiveness inside the cabinet. This operating range makes the controller suitable for standard industrial indoor installations where cabinet ventilation and altitude are considered during system layout.
