The DDS02.1-W050-RS53-01-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the modular DDS Drive Controllers series. Within a multi-axis cabinet, it supplies regulated three-phase power to a matched motor and processes feedback to close the torque, speed, or position loop used in printing, packaging, and material-handling equipment. The unit is intended for coordinated automation systems that need compact drive hardware and stable control across several axes. Its modular format supports installation alongside power supply modules and neighboring axis controllers in the same enclosure. By combining power conversion with feedback processing in one housing, the controller helps the machine maintain commanded motion during acceleration, constant speed, and stopping. It is part of Line 02 and uses version 1 with function ID version 01.
Communication with higher-level motion control takes place through the SERCOS interface, which allows cyclic setpoint exchange and diagnostic data transfer over a fiber-optic ring. This arrangement supports synchronized data flow between the drive and the upstream control system. The drive can deliver a continuous current of 50 A to the connected motor, and position data is handled through resolver feedback for closed-loop operation. Heat is removed by air drawn from inside the control cabinet, so the mounting location needs free circulation around the cooling path. Free airflow inside the cabinet helps move heat away from the heat sink and nearby power components. Altitude capability extends to 1000 m above sea level before current reduction is required. This suits installations in facilities located at normal industrial elevations. During storage, the unit tolerates temperatures from -30 to 85 °C when unpowered. The wide unpowered storage range helps the controller tolerate warehouse and transport conditions before installation. The controller should remain unpowered in that range because the approved operating limits are narrower.
