The DDS02.1-W050-RS01-01 digital AC servo drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. It is intended to regulate current and velocity loops for synchronous or induction servo motors in automated machinery that requires accurate positioning and coordinated motion. In an automation cell, the unit works as the closed-loop power stage between the higher-level controller and the motor. This arrangement allows commanded motion values to be converted into controlled motor torque for repeatable axis operation. Because the controller handles power conversion directly at the axis, the connected drive system can respond quickly to changing motion commands during positioning, feeding, and indexing tasks.
To exchange setpoints and diagnostic data, the controller includes a SERCOS interface for fiber-optic real-time communication with PLCs and multi-axis motion systems. The power section can continuously supply 50 A, which suits medium-frame motors in steady-duty applications. This current capacity supports consistent torque delivery during repeated acceleration and deceleration cycles in compact multi-axis systems. Thermal energy is removed by internal air cooling, so cabinet air moves across the heat sink and no external ducting is required. Ambient operation is allowed from 0 to 45 °C, which fits standard control cabinet conditions. Storage or transport is allowed from -30 to 85 °C when the unit is not in service, helping protect the electronics during shipment and warehouse handling. The controller can be installed at elevations up to 1000 m above sea level before cooling conditions need to be reviewed, because reduced air density can lower cooling effectiveness at higher altitudes. The drive is part of Line 02, and it carries Function ID 01 with Version 01. Those identifiers describe the product generation used for this controller.
